Some apps don't lock during breaks
Phone, Messages and any app in Settings › Screen Time › Always Allowed are never locked by iOS. Remove apps from Always Allowed if you want them locked. Also check NotNow's Parent Settings › During breaks › Allowed apps.
How do I set it up on my child's iPhone?
Your child's iPhone needs to be signed in with a child's Apple Account in your Family Sharing group. Install NotNow on it, choose “My child's iPhone”, and approve with your own Apple Account. After that your child can't delete NotNow or turn off its access.
I forgot the parent PIN
For safety the PIN can't be recovered. A parent can remove NotNow's access in Settings › Screen Time, then reinstall NotNow and set it up again.
The timer didn't start when my child opened a game
Auto-start begins after about 1 minute in a chosen app; iOS doesn't report the moment an app opens. Check that auto-start is on and that the game is in Parent Settings › Apps that start the timer.
The Control Center button is blank or missing
Open NotNow once after installing or updating. If the button in Control Center is a blank circle, remove it in Control Center edit mode and add it again from “Add a Control”.
Can I make screen time or breaks shorter than 15 minutes?
No. iOS needs each part of the cycle to be at least 15 minutes.
Buying for my child's device
The unlock is shared with your Family Sharing group. You can buy on your own iPhone or iPad, then tap Restore Purchases in NotNow on your child's device. Buying on your child's device sends an Ask to Buy request for you to approve.
I already paid but NotNow still asks me to unlock
Open the purchase screen and tap Restore Purchases, with the same Apple Account or Family Sharing group that made the purchase. If it still doesn't work, email us with your iOS version.
What happens when the free trial ends?
The timer and app locking stop and all apps are unlocked. Your settings are kept. Unlock NotNow once for $4.99 to keep using it.
